FORT LA PRESENTATION BURIALS including Galop Island (Ogdensburg, New York)

Approximately 2000 Native Americans lived at Mission de la Presentation under the guidance of Abbe (Father) Picquet, a close relative of the French Royal Family.

BELANGER, buried October 7, 1753, young man from the Beautiful River (Ohio) aged about 26 years, resident of the parish of St.-John, of the diocese of Quebec, buried in the cemetery of this mission.
